Mining production roundup: Fortuna, Sierra, Gold Resource, McEwen

Fortuna Silver produced 2.3Moz silver and 14,557oz gold at its San José mine in Mexico and Caylloma in Peru during Q2.

Output compares to 2.12Moz and 14,547oz, respectively, in the second quarter of last year.

Lead production was 7.19Mlb (3,260t), up from 7.17Mlb in 2Q17, with zinc at 11.4Mlb, up from 10.6Mlb.

Sierra Metals produced 8.6Mlb copper at its Mexican and Peruvian mines in Q2, up 62% from the same period of last year.

Zinc output rose 10% to 20.3Mlb, with silver up 12% to 0.7Moz and gold climbing 38% to 1,814oz.

The increase partly reflects record throughput at Yauricocha in Peru and Bolivar in Mexico.

Gold Resource produced 5,806oz gold and 593,955oz silver at its Arista mine in Mexico in Q2, compared to 5,696oz and 397,670oz in April-June last year.

Copper production was 387t, up from 294t, along with 1,540t lead, up from 1,207t, and 4,473t zinc, up from 4,176t.

The company maintained 2018 guidance of around 27,000oz gold and 1.7Moz silver.

McEwen Mining produced 10,808oz of gold equivalent at its El Gallo mine in Mexico in Q2.

Attributable output at the San José mine in Argentina, in which McEwen has a 49% stake, was 12,139oz gold and 769,197oz silver.

Companywide production was 36,959oz gold, up from 22,191oz in 2Q17, reflecting the acquisition of the Black Fox mine in Canada.

Silver output was 772,432oz, down from 779,487oz.
