New cloud company enters Brazil
Founded by former executives from Oracle, distributor Officer and Planus Datacenter, Cloud Target has kicked off operations in Brazil's highly competitive market.
The new company will provide structured services in the cloud to support companies in their digital transformation, according to a statement.
Cyro Diehl, who stepped down as head of Oracle Brasil four months ago, is the CEO. Betina Testoni, from Officer, and Planus' Erik Baptista are COO and CTO, respectively.
The company made its official launch on Tuesday in São Paulo.
The firm will provide secured access; monitoring; infrastructure; disaster recovery and backup, all in the "as-a-service" model.
A myriad of companies offer different cloud-based IT services and solutions in Brazil. However, there is still room for growth in cloud adoption in the country.
Cisco and research firm GlobalData predict that cloud computing sales under the Infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) model will grow 26% in Latin America over the next five years to US$2.5bn in 2021.
In Brazil alone, 67% of companies upped their cloud investments by more than 5% last year and 94% want to have cloud solutions in place by 2020.
Led by Brazil and Mexico, and driven by digital transformation, Frost&Sullivan predicts the big data and analytics market will reach US$7.41bn in 2022.
Cloud Target has agreements with major public clouds such as Amazon web services, Microsoft Azure, IBM Cloud, Google Cloud, Oracle and Alibaba.
