Monday, March 20, 2017

Argentina's energy and mining ministry expects to launch the first of three tenders for the Gasoducto Cordillerano natural gas pipeline on Thursday.

The first tender will be for the acquisition of pipes, Río Negro province public works minister Carlos Valeri said.

Subsequent tenders will be launched for the supply of compressors, and then for construction of the pipeline itself, which will serve Río Negro, Neuquén and Chubut provinces.

Río Negro aims to award contracts for the project in June and for the pipeline to be operational in 2018.

Valeri said last April that the Gasoducto Cordillerano would require investment of 1.08bn pesos (currently US$70mn).
