Colombia, Ecuador ink oil transport deals

State oil company Petroecuador and Colombian oil producers have signed ship or pay contracts whereby the latter will transport crude through the San Miguel-Lago Agrio (OSLO) pipeline. The operators are Amerisur Resources (AIM: AMER), Ecopetrol (NYSE: EC), Gran Tierra Energy (NYSE Amex: GTE, TSX: GTE), Pacific Stratus Energy, Petrolífera Petroleum, Petrominerales (TSX: PMG), PetroNova (TSX-V: PNA), Southeast Investment and Vetra Energía. The contracts are for 40,000b/d and include a per barrel use rate, the NOC said in a statement. The pledge period runs from this September to November 30, 2018. OSLO runs from the San Miguel river on the border to the Amazonas station of Ecuador's OCP pipeline. Colombian crude would then flow to the Esmeraldas maritime terminal. The initiative falls under a hydrocarbons transport and export agreement the countries signed in February.
