Petrobras closes hydrographic mapping services deal

Brazilian offshore consultancy company Cepemais, together with its US partner Ocean Infinity, have closed a contract to provide hydrographic mapping services to state-run oil firm Petrobras.

Ocean Infinity will use autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) to map an area of 5,000km2 and inspect 12,000km of pipelines in water depths of between 50m and 3,000m in the Campos, Santos and Espírito Santo offshore basins, Ocean Infinity announced in a statement.

The data collected will subsequently be interpreted and reported upon by Cepemais. Work commences in mid-2019 and the contract duration is three years.

According to public data, Petrobras currently operates 32 blocks and 109 fields in the Campos, Santos and Espírito Santo basins.
