In order to continue offering services with the highest quality, the Coordination of Laboratories of the Mexican Petroleum Institute (IMP) got, at the end of 2018 and the beginning of this 2019, to prove eight new tests and enter the complete documentation to start the process of accreditation of four more tests, so the on-site visit of the Mexican Accreditation Entity, AC (EMA) is expected soon.
The eight new accredited tests are carried out by personnel from the laboratories of Environmental Analysis, Chemical Analysis and Organic Geochemistry; from the first, three new tests were obtained, from the second, four and from the third, a new one. The Physical Analysis Laboratory is in charge of the four remaining tests, associated with the Assay studies.
Likewise, the staff of the Laboratory Coordination of the IMP also obtained the endorsement of the EMA to recognize five laboratories "as of Test", accredited under the requirements of the Standard NMX-EC-17025-IMNC-2018 (ISO / IEC 17025: 2017), updated and current version.
The laboratories with recognition are: Organic Geochemistry (Chemistry); Environmental Analysis (Waste and Water); Chemical Analysis (Chemistry); Production of Hydrocarbons and Control of Corrosion (Chemistry) and Combustion Systems (Fixed Sources and Chemistry).
These achievements are the result of the experience and commitment and work demonstrated by the specialized staff of the Institute, as well as having infrastructure, high-tech automated equipment and top-level technical capacity to offer reliable and timely results, both in the field and in the laboratory
