Paraguay advances 500kV expansion with contract award

Paraguay’s state power company Ande has awarded a contract to oversee the construction of the 500kV Valenzuela substation and associated links.
The winner of the 28-month contract was Consorcio Esintec (Esin Consultora-Intec) which offered US$2.53mn, procurement information shows. The reference budget was US$3.36mn.
The other participants for the work, which the River Plate basin development financial fund Fonplata will help finance, were Electroconsult del Paraguay and Electrosistemas. The call was issued in September.
Ande previously signed the contract to build the Valenzuela substation, part of the 500kV Yguazú-Valenzuela project.
