Perenco to invest US$186mn in Tabasco area next year
Perenco México will spend US$186mn next year at its Santuario El Golpe light crude concession in Mexico’s Tabasco state.
During an extraordinary meeting late Tuesday, hydrocarbons regulator CNH greenlit the Anglo-French firm's 2023 budget for the area. The company expects to spud and complete 10 wells and conduct 15 major repair works during the year, the regulator said.
Perenco expects a 13% higher yield from the field than it originally laid out in its development plan, with output starting 2023 at about 16,000b/d and ending the year above 30,000b/d. Gas output, meanwhile, is expected to rise from 15Mf3/d (million cubic feet per day) to 25Mf3/d. In total, it plans to extract 9.3mn barrels of oil and 8.4Bf3 of gas.
During the same session, the commission also allowed federal oil and gas giant Pemex to spud the Kante shallow water exploration well off the coast of Tabasco. The company expects to find 24mn barrels of oil equivalent of prospective resources, with spudding expected to start on November 19.
Pemex was also allowed to extend for six months seismic data acquisition and processing along the Tampico Misantla basin off the coast of Veracruz state.
Meanwhile, Pantera Exploración y Producción said it would invest between US$10.3mn and US$25.8mn next year in its A4.BG contract in Tamaulipas state, slightly less than its earlier projections.
