Plan pegs oil, gas investment at US$434bn through 2020

Investment in Brazil's oil and gas sector through 2020 will reach 686bn reais (US$434bn), according to federal energy planning company EPE's new sector expansion plan. Of the total, 510mn reais will be for E&P, 167bn reais for derivatives supply and 9bn reais for natural gas supply. Another 97bn reais is due to be invested in biofuels. The plan sees oil and gas output of 6.1Mb/d and 142Mm3/d in 2020 compared with 2.1Mb/d last year and 58Mm3/d expected this year.
