IN BRIEF: Santiago tolls set to rise
Tolls along Chilean capital Santiago's concessioned urban highways are set to rise 9% at the beginning of the new year, local paper El Mercurio reported.
According to concession contracts, highway concessionaires charging via the electronic toll collection system TAG can increase prices each year in line with inflation, and add an additional 3.5%. Chile's inflation for December 2013-November 2014 is estimated to reach 5.5%.
The urban highways winding through Santiago are Vespucio Norte, Costanera Norte, Autopista Central and Vespucio Sur.
