Mexico's insurers to reap benefits of US$565bn infra plan

Insurance firms operating in Mexico will benefit from the 7.7tn-peso (US$565bn) 2014-18 infrastructure plan, said Amis insurance association head Recaredo Arias.

Damage insurance, which accounted for 19% of the sector in 2013, will grow significantly with the investments, Arias was quoted as saying by local daily El Economista.

Insurance group AXA director Arturo González Briseño told the newspaper that construction and damage insurance will post the highest growth from the infrastructure projects.
