Panama's public works ministry (MOP) expects the second phase of the Corredor Norte highway to be ready in the first quarter of 2015, Panama América reported.
The US$114mn highway is 15 months behind schedule, but is now forecast to be opened in February or March.
Phase II runs 10.2km from El Ramal-Las Lajas Brisas del Golf to 24 de Diciembre. The new stretch will allow those living east of Panama City to reach downtown in about six minutes. The commute currently takes about 40 minutes.
