Paraguay has awarded two projects to revamp roads for nearly US$40mn, public works ministry MOPC said in a statement.
One project entails improving 504km of the Transchaco highway for US$23.3mn. It was divided in two stretches, one awarded to Constructora Heisecke and the second to Consorcio Concret Mix-Ocho.
The second project entails the construction of urban roads in Itapúa, Alto Paraná, Canindeyú and Amambay for US$16.5mn, and was split into six stretches. Sociedad Técnica de Construcciones and Construcciones y Viviendas Paraguayas were awarded two stretches each, while the others went to Consorcio Victoria and Consorcio del Norte.
MOPC said infrastructure investments top US$265mn so far this year with these tenders.
The government plans to invest US$650mn in infrastructure in 2015.
