Paraná state government in Brazil authorized the paving of a stretch of four kilometers that links the headquarters of a biodiesel mill with BR-476 highway. This measure carries a price tag of 13.6mn reais (US$4.14mn).
The works in Lara municipality, in the metropolitan area of state capital Curitiba, are expected to be completed within 24 months.
According to the highway department, Usina Biodiesel Potencial Petróleo will finance the paving as part of the Programa Paraná Competitivo initiative.
"This paving work will enable even more investments, attracting new companies and expanding potential activities," said Paraná state governor Beto Richa (pictured). "Along with this project we are negotiating other works with the BR-476 concessionaire to widen the highway in the urban perimeter," he maintained.
