Rousseff names São Paulo politician as transport minister

Brazil's President Dilma Rousseff has named Antonio Carlos Rodrigues as transport minister, to replace Paulo Sérgio Passos.

São Paulo-born Rodrigues is a lawyer and has served on São Paulo city council since 2001. In 2012 he stepped in as São Paulo state senator, to replace Marta Suplicy, who was appointed to the ministry of culture.

Besides Rodrigues, Rousseff also named the following ministers: Gilberto Occhi (integration), Miguel Rossetto (general secretary), Patrus Ananias (agriculture), Pepe Vargas (institutional relations), Ricardo Berzoini (communications) and Carlos Gabas (welfare).
