ProInversión awards corporate communications tender to Global Crossing

Bnamericas
Peruvian private investment promotion agency ProInversión has awarded international IP connectivity solutions provider Global Crossing (Nasdaq: GLBC) a concession in the 10.15-10.30 GHz and 10.50-10.65 GHz bands, the agency said in a statement. The 20-year concession was awarded with an offer of US$220,800, surpassing the base price, to operate in Lima and Callao provinces. The spectrum will serve for providing point to multipoint services and broadband connections to the corporate market. In addition, the concession contract includes the provision of free broadband connections of at least 512 Kbps for some local government offices. Global Crossing was acquired by Level 3 Communications (Nasdaq: LVLT) in April for US$3bn. The acquisition was completed in October with combined revenues close to US$6.26bn.
