A strong ruling in favor of Alto Maipo issued this morning the Second Santiago Environmental Court, rejecting the injunction filed by Councilwoman Maite Birke, in which she requested the immediate suspension of the construction of some work fronts of the hydroelectric project.

The environmental court ruled out the request, noting that the detention of part of the works of Alto Maipo "is not effective or proportional to the information presented," adding, among others, that the suspension of the construction of tunnels for allegedly precautionary The recharge capacity of aquifers in the construction sector is not logical, since, on the one hand, no project activity could interfere with the eminently climatic factors on which this natural process depends. Along with expressing its agreement with those resolved by the Second Environmental Court, Alto Maipo ratifies its commitment and willingness to perform the tasks that are required by the authorities to corroborate the fulfillment of its environmental commitments.
