Stoppages dent Petrobras crude output
Brazil's state-run oil company Petrobras reported a fall in March crude production as platform stoppages interrupted operations off the country's southeast coast.
Output from Brazilian oilfields averaged 2.12Mb/d, down 3% from February, according to a Petrobras statement.
"This result is mainly due to maintenance work on FPSO Cidade de Angra dos Reis at the Lula field, in the pre-salt area of the Santos basin, and the P-37 unit at the Marlim field in the Campos basin," the statement said.
The company's total oil and gas production in March was 2.74Mboe/d, comprising 2.61Mboe/d in Brazil and 130,000boe/d abroad.
Natural gas output for the month was 77.7Mm3/d, 3% below the February figure.
Hydrocarbons production from pre-salt fields, located up to 7km below the Atlantic seabed, was 1.50Mboe/d, down 2% from the previous month.
