During his participation, Eng. Sosa made a detailed presentation of the actions undertaken by ANDE for the use of electrical energy generated in the binationals in Paraguayan territory, within the framework of the Revision of Annex C of the ITAIPU Treaty.
The head of ANDE highlighted the execution of the works contemplated in the ANDE 2021-2040 Master Plan, the permanent synchronization of the Acaray, Itaipu and Yacyretá Hydroelectric Power Plants and the approval of the law that approves the generation, production, development and use of electrical energy from renewable, non-conventional energy sources, as strategic axes for the negotiations of the ITAIPU Tariff 2023.
Also in this context, the head of ANDE highlighted the strategic works that ANDE, through the National Government, is executing to reaffirm national energy sovereignty, and mentioned that there are currently two 500 kV transmission lines (LT 500kV Right Bank ITAIPU-Villa Hayes and Yacyretá-Ayolas-Villa Hayes LT) and two 500 kV substations (SE Villa Hayes 500 kV and SE Ayolas 500 kV), and that other 500 kV works are underway, which are priorities to face the use of 100% of the power available in ITAIPU, as a factor of economic development and social progress in Paraguay.
The works mentioned were the 500 kV Right Bank-Yguazú Transmission Line and the 500 kV Yguazú Substation, works in the final stage of their construction for their next commissioning, as well as the future 500 kV Valenzuela Substation, under construction , as far as the main 500 kV transmission lines will go, for the strengthening of the national electrical system, especially in the Metropolitan area, where the greatest demand for electrical energy in the country is concentrated.
On the other hand, he highlighted other 500 kV works with financing, including the 500 kV Yguazú-Valenzuela TL and complementary works, to be executed with loans from multilateral organizations such as the IDB and JICA; as well as the 500 kV TL Margin Derecha-Villa Hayes- 2nd. Circuit and complementary works in 220 kV, with financing from the IDB and Taiwan.
Finally, Eng. Félix Sosa highlighted that through investments in electrical infrastructure works executed and in the process of execution, ANDE has completed for the third consecutive year, the largest investment in infrastructure in its history in 2022, with the execution of 330 million dollars, 60 million more than the last record registered in 2020.
