ARGENTINA

President Mauricio Macri issued two decrees authorizing the signing of loan agreements with the European Investment Bank (EIB) that will be used to finance sanitation developments.

BRAZIL

The water and sewerage utility of Manaus, capital of Amazonas state, has changed its name to Águas de Manaus, with plans to invest 880mn reais (US$223mn) over five years.

The cities ministry has decided to cut 2bn reais from the budget assigned by state employee indemnity guarantee fund FGTS to the sanitation sector for this year.

COLOMBIA

The government drastically slashed the estimated cost for a PPP aqueduct that is being planned for the city of Santa Marta in Magdalena department.
