Córdoba launches tenders for Kuwait-funded aqueducts
The investment and financing agency of Argentina's Córdoba province, ACIF, launched four tenders to build aqueducts financed by a loan from Kuwait's fund for international development.
The four contracts have a combined budget of nearly 2.2bn pesos (US$53mn) and entail two aqueducts in Punilla department, one for Colón and one in both Río Primero and San Justo, bidding documents show.
The Punilla Sur aqueduct (ID 2019/000004) has a 436mn-peso budget and involves a new water intake on the Cosquín river, replacing an existing impulsion line with a bigger one, a new potable water treatment plant, a new pumping station and 21.9km of pipeline.
The 6.9km Tanti aqueduct (ID 2019/000003) has a 207mn-peso budget and will run between the Yuspe river and the town of Tanti. The pipeline will be parallel to an existing aqueduct built in 1969.
The Altos de Chipión-La Para aqueduct (ID 2019/000005) is budgeted at 759mn pesos and entails an 8.5km impulsion line, a new pumping station, a 500m3 reservoir and over 10km of secondary pipelines.
The Sierra Chicas Norte aqueduct (ID 2019/000002) has a 754mn-peso budget and involves 50km of impulsion pipelines, four pumping stations and two reservoirs with combined capacity of 1,500m3.
Bids for all four will be opened on May 28. Interested companies can access the bidding documents at the province's procurement website here, using the ID numbers provided above.
The pipelines and associated works are part of the province's US$537mn aqueducts program that includes 13 projects. According to the local government, the program will also receive funding from Abu Dhabi and Latin American development bank CAF.
