The Andacollo sulfides project, part of Teck Resources' Carmen de Andacollo copper mine, considers a transition from mining the supergene deposit to the primary hypogene zone and building a concentrator plant. This process would extend the mine's lifespan by approximately 20 years, with anticipated average annual production of 80,000t copper and 55,000oz gold in concentrate over the first 10 years of operation. The project acheived commercial production in Octobe 2010. Carmen de Andacollo is operated by Teck Resources Limited.
