Project Details

The Teleférico Bicentenario cable car project is a private initiative whose objective is to connect two of the main centers of commerce in Santiago: Ciudad Empresarial and the sector commonly referred to as Sanhattan, located in the area where the districts of Las Condes and Providencia meet. The Sanhattan station would be near the Tobalaba metro station. Journey time would be 11 minutes. Another station would be located in the capital's metropolitan park. The project would comprise a safe, environmentally friendly and silent transport service that would be integrated into the capital's public transit system, Transantiago. Each cabin would have a 10-person capacity. The system would have a capacity to transport 7,000 passengers per hour with a cable car arriving every 12 seconds. The system would operate 17 hours a day.
