Project Details

The government of Peru plans to build ten water treatment plants in the polluted Titicaca watershed, intended to prevent untreated effluents from flowing into the lake. The general objective of the project is to develop a solution for the treatment of municipal wastewater in the Lake Titicaca basin in Puno, which would benefit the municipalities of Chucuito, Lampa, Moho, Juliaca, Azángaro, Ayaviri, Huancané, Ilave, Juli and Yunguyo, among others. Likewise, the proposal considers having 100% of the infrastructure in perfect condition during the concession period, so as to ensure compliance with service levels. Among the benefits of this project are health, welfare, economic development and environmental preservation.
