Description

The Rio Grande do Sul transmission complex is designed to reinforce electricity supply to Brazil's south. The project includes three new substations, the expansion of a fourth, and 487km of transmission lines in Rio Grande do Sul state. The new substations include the SE Santa Vitória do Palmar, SE Marmeleiro, and SE Povo Novo, while the Nova Santa Rita substation in Porto Alegre will be upgraded. In addition, 487km of extra high tension 525kV transmission lines will be built: LT Nova Santa Rita-Povo Novo, LT Povo Novo-Marmeleiro, and LT Marmeleiro-Santa Vitória do Palmar. Transmissora Sul Litorânea de Energia (TSLE), a joint venture between Eletrosul and Companhia Estadual de Geração e Transmissão de Energia Elétrica (CEEE-GT), is responsible for the works.
