Description: The "Imperial Solar Photovoltaic Park" Project corresponds to a new photovoltaic park located in a rural environment approximately 26 km southwest of the city of Temuco and 2 km east of the commune of Nueva Imperial, Province of Cautín, Region of Araucanía, Chile. The Project will generate clean energy through the construction of a 9 MW AC solar photovoltaic plant, which is why it is considered as a small distributed generation medium (PMGD) based on non-conventional renewable energy (NCRE). The photovoltaic park will be made up of a polygonal area that will consist of approximately 27,000 panels installed with axis follower technology. In addition, it considers the construction of a power line to the 23 kV medium voltage interconnection point (LMT), with an approximate length of 777 m. Having this, a connection point to the existing line owned by the company Frontel to transmit the energy, finally, to the National Electric System (SEN). Access to the Project will be from the Las Violetas road, located approximately 3 km from the Nueva Imperial district. The Las Violetas road is accessed from Highway S-40 in the section that connects the city of Nueva Imperial with the town of Labranza, in the Nueva Imperial district. The access from the Camino de Las Violetas to the Project is a new access to be built from Las Violetas, which connects to the internal roads of the Plant. The length of the permanent access road will be 15 m, with a road width of 4 m, with the berm being 0.25 m. The use of an approximate area of 22.33 hectares is contemplated, which considers the total facilities (both permanent and temporary works for its operation) together with access roads and power lines. The temporary and permanent works correspond to approximately 0.30 and 14.69 hectares respectively, that is, 14.99 ha of intervention. This difference with respect to the area enclosed by the perimeter fence, corresponding to 22.33 ha, indicates that there are certain areas where no works will be installed. Objective The objective of the "Imperial Solar Photovoltaic Park" Project is the generation of electrical energy from energy solar, through a photovoltaic park whose maximum power to inject into the distribution network is 9 MW AC, considering a nominal power of approximately 10 MW peak. During the last years, the energy demand has been growing worldwide; including Chile, both at the community and regional levels. Furthermore, climate change and growing concern for the environment have generated the search for sustainable alternatives for energy generation. Therefore, projects such as "Imperial Solar Photovoltaic Park" contribute to the development of a diverse energy matrix for the country, delivering clean energy to the local distribution network and the National Electric System (SEN). Framed in the context of Non-Conventional Renewable Energies (NCRE), the Project will use the renewable resources presented by the La Araucanía Region for the production of clean and non-polluting energy throughout its operation phase.
