Chile's largest pension fund manager AFP Provida is engaged in the investment and collection of its affiliates' contributions, the management of individual capitalization accounts and the provision of life and disability benefits, as well as senior retirement pensions. It operates a network of 59 branches nationwide. The company also holds stakes in private pension fund administrators operating in Peru, Ecuador and Mexico. MetLife, Inc. acquired the company from Spanish banking giant Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria S.A. (BBVA) in 2013. AFP Provida was founded in 1981 and is based in Santiago, Chile.
