Panama's environmental ministry regulates all activities affecting the protection, conservation, improvement and restoration of the country's environment. Formerly known as environment authority ANAM, it turned into a ministry in 2015, when the government modified law No. 41 dating from 1998 in order to strengthen the state's role in guaranteeing a healthy environment for society.
