Founded in 1976, Hondutel is Honduras' state-owned telecom company. It provides services of internet and telephony (fixed and mobile) for individuals and corporate clients. The company remains in government hands after its privatization failed in 2001. On June 19, 2007 Hondutel launched its first of a series of PCS networks.
