Chilean telco Entel Chile was formerly the country's state-run long distance monopoly. In addition to national and international long distance, the company now provides broadband and dial-up internet, mobile telephony and local telephony services. It also operates six data centers in Chile. Entel Chile has operations established in Peru through its subsidiary Entel Peru, Americatel Peru, and Servicios de Call Center del Peru. It acquired Nextel del Peru (now Entel Peru) in 2013, from its former owner NII Holdings. Entel was founded in 1964 and is based in Santiago.
