Chilean telco Entel Chile was formerly the country's state-run long distance monopoly. In addition to national and international long distance, the company now provides broadband and dial-up internet, mobile telephony and local telephony services. It also operates six data centers in Chile. Entel Chile has operations established in Peru through its affiliates Americatel Peru and Servicios de Call Center del Peru. In this country, it acquired Nextel del Peru in 2013, from its former owner, US-based company NII Holdings. Entel was founded in 1964 and is based in Santiago, Chile.
