Grupo Televisa is a Mexican media company and a participant in the international entertainment business. It distributes its programming throughout Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa and has interests in television production and broadcasting, production of pay TV networks, international distribution of television programming, direct-to-home satellite services, publishing and publishing distribution, cable television, radio production and broadcasting, professional sports and live entertainment, feature film production and distribution, and the operation of a horizontal internet portal. Televisa also owns a stake in Univisión, a Spanish-language media company in the US, and in Sky, a direct-to-home satellite television firm. In 2014, the company sold its stake in Mexican mobile operator Iusacell to Grupo Salinas and used part of the proceeds to acquire pay TV company Cablevisión Red. That same year, the company obtained full control of Cablecom, a TV operator with a presence in 16 Mexican states, consolidating its position as the country's dominant pay TV player. .
