Colombia's state-owned transmission firm ISA is a major participant in the Latin American power and telecommunications sectors. It operates a high voltage transmission network of some 39,000km, deployed throughout Colombia, Peru, Bolivia and Brazil, and interconnections between Venezuela and Colombia, Colombia and Ecuador, and Ecuador and Peru. It has an 80% stake in the Colombian market, 77% in Peru, 35% in Bolivia and 17% in Brazil. The ISA Group is also involved in telecommunications through Internexa, a Colombian-based company with offices in Ecuador, Peru and Brazil. ISA is headquartered in Medellin in Colombia's Antioquia state.
