Chile's transport and telecommunications ministry (MTT) has as main mission to develop national policies regarding transport and telecoms, supervise public and private sector companies operating in the country, and coordinate and promote the development of such activities while monitoring the obligation to respect the relevant legislation, rules and standards. It is comprised of the country's transport department, telecommunications department, and civil aeronautical board. In addition, it serves as a liaison between the government and various companies, including 10 port companies created from subsidiarization of Chile's national port authority Emporchi.
