Mexico's state oil company Pemex is engaged in the exploration, production, transportation, refining, storage and sale of hydrocarbons and derivatives. Its products include petrochemicals, natural gas, liquid gas, sulphur, gasoline, kerosene, and diesel. According to the company's statistical yearbook, Pemex operates 449 production fields; 9,439 production wells; 232 off-shore platforms; 6 refineries; 8 petrochemical complexes; 8,295km of gas pipelines; 4,992km of oil pipelines; and 18 LPG distribution terminals. Pemex operates more than 10,042 service stations throughout the country. The company was incorporated in 1938 and is based in Mexico City, Mexico.
