Chile's President Sebastián Piñera has named economist Jorge Bunster to the problematic post of energy minister.
Bunster replaces Sergio del Campo, who was serving as interim substitute after former minister Rodrigo Álvarez resigned unexpectedly last week.
Bunster was the director of Chile's international economic relations department (Direcon), and becomes the country's fifth energy minister under Piñera's presidency. He previously served as the general manager of Chilean fuel distributor Copec for 19 years.
Former ministers under Piñera include Ricardo Raineri, Laurence Golborne, Fernando Echeverría and Álvarez chronologically.
