rgentina's Pluspetrol Energy plans to maintain gas output in its 4.5 tcf Ramos gas field in northern Argentina at 11 million cu. m. (389 million cubic feet) per day during 2000, a company source told BNamericas.com.
Pluspetrol Energy is a joint venture between Spanish oil company Repsol-YPF (45%) and private Argentine oil company Pluspetrol (55%). It has a 60% share in the block, while Argentina's Tecpetrol has 25% and Astra has 15%.
This year Pluspetrol expects company-wide gas production to average 550 million cubic feet per day (cfpd). It also operates 10 fields in Bolivia and has a 20% interest in Bolivia's Andina gas production company. Andina's other controllers are Perez Companc and Repsol-YPF with 40% each.
Pluspetrol also holds a 40% stake in the Camisea gas field in Peru and has made a gas discovery in the Neuquen basin in Argentina.
