The Energy Commission of Puerto Rico (Comisión de Energía de Puerto Rico, CEPR) is a specialized independent entity based in San Juan which was created in 2014 to rule, oversee and enforce the power public policy of the Free Associated State of Puerto Rico; ensuring its reliability, efficiency, transparency and fair pricing. CEPR's functions are: establishing rules for the power sector companies and entities, collecting information needed to perform its duties, investigating whether sector laws are being fulfilled, and solve non-compliance situations or contractual problems for companies and the relative authority.
