Ferromex (Ferrocarril Mexicano) is a freight railway company in Mexico and a subsidiary of Grupo México, with Union Pacific Corporation holding a minority stake. Established in 1998 after the privatization of Mexico’s rail network, Ferromex operates one of the largest railway systems in the country, covering over 11,000 kilometers of track across 24 states and connecting to key border points with the United States and major ports on both the Pacific and Gulf coasts. The company transports a broad range of goods, including minerals, agricultural products, chemicals, automotive parts, and intermodal containers.
