Paraguay tweaks tender evaluation rules

Paraguay’s public works ministry (MOPC) has issued a decree to modify the evaluation process for its tenders and auctions.

The main change is a rule that the evaluation committee will have different members for each bidding process, as opposed to a set committee for all auctions as has been the case until now.

The decree states that the evaluation committee will have a one representative each from the MOPC’s finances, legal and technical units.

“We want to give the public the guarantee that in this administration we want to work without separate interests, with transparency, to build quality works for the people,” public works minister Arnoldo Wiens said in a ministry release.

The new rules went into effect on Monday.
