Bolivia relaunches rig service call

Bnamericas Published: Wednesday, December 04, 2013

Bolivia has issued a third call for bids to provide O&M for three new Chinese rigs, BNamericas has learned.

State hydrocarbons company YPFB declared the original and second processes void after the sole group to submit offers - Sinopec - did not meet bidding rule requirements.

Offers for the two-year contract now are due and will be opened December 16 with a decision expected in subsequent days. Procurement information in Spanish is available here.

The 1,000-2,000hp rigs will come from Chinese firm CAMC to support YPFB's 2020 investment and exploration strategic plan. The NOC has received one rig, another is en route from Chile port Arica and a third is scheduled to arrive in February.
