Court denies Aguacor appeal

Bnamericas
Santiago's appeals court has unanimously upheld a September 2003 decision made by Chile's waterworks industry regulator SISS to revoke a waterworks concession for company Aguacor, newspaper La Segunda reported. The court ruled the SISS did not act illegally or arbitrarily in revoking Aguacor's concession for its alleged failure to comply with its obligations and service requirements, the paper said. Before the SISS ruling, Aguacor had a concession to supply drinking water and collect and dispose of wastewater for the Coronel Industrial Park and an area around San Pedro in Region VIII, BNamericas reported at the time. Senastek holds a 93% share of Aguacor; the other shareholders are businessmen Guillermo Cáceres (5%) and Ascencio Muñoz (1%) and Jorge Sepúlveda (1%), according to La Segunda.
