Top executives resign from Telefónica

Three top executives at Spanish telco Telefónica (NYSE: TEF) have resigned, according to international press reports. The resignations were those of Telefónica's general technical secretary for the chairman's office and member of the executive committee, Luis Abril, who reported directly to company CEO César Alierta; global marketing director Belén Amatriaín, and the company's human resources director Óscar Maraver. The wave of changes has also reached the company's global business division Telefónica Digital, with Telefónica Venezuela's former president Michael Duncan recently being appointed managing director for Europe, and Telefónica Ecuador's former president Juan Goulu being appointed managing director for Latin America, according to Spanish paper Cinco Días.
