Description:
Agencia Nacional de Transportes Terrestres (ANTT) is Brazil's national regulator for the ground transportation sector and it awards infrastructure construction concessions for highways and railways, licenses for highway and railway public transportation, authorization for tourist and freight transport, international cargo and multimodal transport and terminals. In the highway sector, ANTT currently manages 21 concessions, totaling 9,969km. The holders of these concessions are: Nova Dutra, Concer, CRT, Concepa, Ecosul, Autopista Planalto Sul, Autopista Litoral Sul, Autopista Régis Bittencourt, Autopista Fernão Dias, Autopista Fluminense, Rodovia Transbrasiliana, Rodovia do Aço, Via Bahia, ECO101, MGO Rodovias, Concebra, CRO, MS VIA, Via 040, Concessionária de Rodovias Galvão BR-153 and Ecoponte. ANTT has also granted 30-year concessions for 25,599km of railways. The concession contratcs can be extended for another 30 years, and their holders are: América Latina Logística Malha Norte; América Latina Logística Malha Oeste; América Latina Logística Malha Paulista; América Latina Logística Malha Sul; Estrada de Ferro Carajás; Estrada de Ferro Paraná Oeste S.A.; Estrada de Ferro Vitória a Minas; Ferrovia Centro-Atlântica S.A.; Ferrovia Tereza Cristina S.A.; Ferrovia Transnordestina Logística S.A.; MRS Logística S.A.; Transnordestina Logistica S.A.; Ferrovia de Integração Oeste-Leste (VALEC S.A.), and Ferrovia Norte Sul (VALEC S.A.).
