Description:
Bunge Limited is a global food processing corporation based in White Plains, New York. Through its subsidiaries, it conducts operations in over 40 countries, where it focuses on agribusiness, sugar and bioenergy, food and ingredients, and fertilizers. Bunge buys, sells, stores and transports oilseeds and grains; produces sugar and ethanol from sugarcane; mills wheat, corn and rice to make ingredients used by food companies, and sells fertilizers in South America.
The company has subsidiaries in Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Paraguay and Uruguay. It also has representative offices in Peru and Colombia. The firm is one of the main exporters in Brazil, despite having sold its fertilizer operations in the country to Yara International in 2013. Its Brazilian operations include bioenergy, port services, and 120 facilities to process grains, soybeans, wheat, sugar and other food products. In Argentina, the firm operates five fertilizer processing and blending plants, and is involved in oilseed production and distribution, as well as grain sales, oils production, and port logistics services to agricultural producers. Its Mexican operations include six wheat flour mills, including Harinera La Espiga, the biggest in the country.
