IEnova Pipelines, S. de R.L. de C.V. (formerly Gasoductos de Chihuahua, S. de R.L. de C.V.) is a Mexican company that distributes liquefied petroleum gas and natural gas. It was formed in 1997 as a 50-50 joint venture between Pemex's subsidiary PGPB and US-based Sempra Energy. Its assets include the 37km Samalayuca pipeline that runs from San Agustín Valdivia on the US border to a thermoelectric plant in Samalayuca, Chihuahua state. The company also has a compression station in Gloria de Dios, a locality near Ciudad Juárez.IEnova Pipelines is involved in the Los Ramones pipeline project that seeks to improve gas supply across central Mexico by becoming the backbone of the country's natural gas infrastructure. The company will be the operator of phase I for a 25-year period. In December 2015, Mexico's Comisión Federal de Competencia Económica (COFECE) objected to the transaction to purchase Pemex's interest in Gasoductos de Chihuahua as was agreed and approved by both parties in September of the same year. However, despite the setback, IEnova and Pemex are in the process of restructuring the transaction.
