Description:
Indra Sistemas is a Spanish information technology and defense systems company. The corporation is organized around six vertical markets: security and defense; transport and traffic; energy and industry; telecom and media; finance and insurance, and public administration and healthcare. Indra's services include consultancy, project development, applications integration, and outsourcing of IT systems and business processes. Its core market is Spain but it also has a presence in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Panama, and Peru. In Medellín, Colombia, the company applied a multimodal transport and traffic management solution, while in Brazil's Curitiba it deployed an intelligent transport system (ITS). In 2011 it acquired Brazilian IT company Politec. The firm has contracts to implement traffic monitoring at the Vitoria and Santos ports.
In Peru, Indra supported the development of a study for the implementation of smart grids. In Chile, the firm signed a five-year contract in 2014 to provide maintenance support for the public bus system Transantiago's integrated payment platform. In Argentina, it has carried out the modernization of three air control towers in the airports of Mendoza, Resistencia, and Comodoro Rivadavia.
Indra was founded in 1921 and is based in Madrid.
