Description:
Brazilian Refineria de Petróleo Riograndense (RPR), headquartered in Rio Grande do Sul, is a privately held company focused on production and trading of oil products, particularly, gasoline, diesel, naphta, fuel oil, LPG, special oils, pentanes and light solvents. RPR is jointly controlled by Ultrapar Participações (33.3%), Braskem (33.3%) and Petrobras (33.3%), being these last two the primary suppliers of raw materials for the company. In 2015, the company processed an average of 10,087b/d, a 24.6% drop compared to the previous year. Fuels represented 94.2% of its production, while special oils and solvents accounted for the balance. Within fuels, 54.2% was diesel; 30.5%, gasoline; 11.6%, fuel oil; and 3.7%, LPG. Its actual name was designated in 2009; however, the company's history began in 1937, with the incorporation of the Refinaria de Petróleo Ipiranga.
