Zijin Mining Group Co. Ltd. is a Chinese conglomerate active in exploration and mine development worldwide, mainly in gold, copper, lead, zinc, tungsten, iron and other base metals. Zijin is the top gold producer in China. Via subsidiary Xiamen Zijin Tongguan Investment Development, the company controls Monterrico Metals, which has the Río Blanco copper and molybdenum project in the Piura region of northern Peru. Zijin Mining Group was formed in 2000 and is based in Shanghang, China.
