3Com opens training center

The Chilean division of US-based corporate network supplier 3Com (Nasdaq: COMS) opened Friday a training center for the benefit of its distributors and end users, the company told press. 3Com operates purely through distributors in 12 Latin American countries, 3Com Chile country manager Jose Manuel Alessandri told BNamericas, adding that Chile is the third country to have a training center, after Argentina and Brazil. 3Com components are distributed to the full range of corporations from SMEs with 100 employees to multinationals, Alessandri said. The training facility has been operational since November 2002 and 300 people have already benefited from its services, he added. In 3Com's fiscal year ending May 2002, the Americas region generated US$700mn of the company's US$1.5bn global revenues.
