Acindar Faces Dumping Probe

Bnamericas
Brazil's steel tube sector will file a dumping complaint against Argentine steel tube maker Acindar, the Brazilian sector body Abitam said according to a report in Diario do Grande ABC (Brazil). Acindar is offering three-quarter inch tubes to Brazilian state oil company Petrobras at 30% below the Argentine market price, said Abitam spokesperson Sebastiao Merij. The alleged discrepancy came to light during the opening of bids for a Petrobras contract for 8,000t of tubes to transport crude oil. If Brazil's antidumping authorities find in Abita's favor, Acindar faces a tariff surcharge of at least 32%.
